Despite being jargonic/technical rather than simple like the English word "speech," thaputs was chosen here because in the source language, Ladoçei Htoleiþe, it literally means "way of speaking." It would also be possible to say "pekim" instead, which literally means "speaking" or "speech." In this case, the redundant classifier "pek" would be eliminated before it.
