1. With verbs to mark the perfect tense (with vowel harmony):
'dǫ̋a', give; 'dydǫ̋a', have given.
'dı̋sa', guard; 'dıdı̋sa', have guarded.
2. With adjectives to mark the elative degree (with vowel harmony):
'gőbi', beautiful; 'gygőbi', more/most beautiful.
'va̋di', good; 'vıva̋di', better/best.
3. With numbers to mark distributive adverbs:
'se̋m', one; 'sémsem', one by one, one at a time.

Nouns indicating persons use full reduplication as one way to form plural.

The meaning of adjectives(and sometimes other verbs) may be intensified by applying reduplications.

The diminutive for of some nouns are formed by the reduplication of the first syllable; the frequentative form of some verbs are formed by the reduplication of the last syllable.

besides reduplications, there is also a triplication, and triplication is known to form proper names from monosyllabic words, e.g. "Popopo"(Kirby) is derivated from the word po("ball") and "Dedede"(King Dedede) is derivated fromthe word de("bad-tempered")

Of note, the verbal intensifier "very, a lot, like hell" involves partial (C(C)V- or VC-) reduplication of the verb's first syllable.
